The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office acknowledged the disturbing content of the video but noted that no formal charges have been filed. They also said that due to the statute of limitations, they could not hold Combs accountable for the incident. “Unfortunately, if the conduct described had occurred in 2016, we would not have been able to file charges because the conduct would have occurred outside the time limit for the offense of assault to be prosecuted,” the office said.
